You need to get a deed poll
done..
Actually I dun think it's necessary ba.. coz u can tell ple to call
u by that english name that u prefer.. and if u apply cards, can
always use that english name altho it's not in ur ic.. anyway, up
to u..
I think i got my deed poll done quite cheap liao.. coz most lawyers
i know charge at least $100, and i got mine at $80. However, that's
bcos my fren got connection.
After getting ur deed poll, you have to go SIR and change ur IC. On
my deed poll, it was written that i muz get my new IC done within
30 days. However, my fren called and asked and was told that it's
not necessary. Changing of IC cost $60.
If u want everything (cards, bank accounts, memberships, medical
appointment cards etc) to reflect ur english name, it's really
going to be very troublesome.
So, think twice before you decide ba.
